Connect Claude to your everyday tools (Asana, Slite, Slack & more)
How to give your AI assistant hands in the tools where your work actually lives — so it can read your project boards, wiki, and messages instead of relying on copy-paste.
MCPs (Model Context Protocol servers) are bridges that let an AI assistant like Claude read and write in your actual tools — Asana, Slite, Slack, Google Workspace, and a growing list of others. Instead of copy-pasting between a chat window and your apps, the assistant talks to those tools directly. Think of each MCP as one extra hand that reaches into a specific tool.
Everything happens as you, with your real permissions: the assistant can only see what you can see, and anything it writes is authored by your account.
Tools worth connecting
You don't need all of these — start with the ones your team lives in:
Asana — read your projects and tasks, create and update tasks, add comments.
Slite (or Notion, Confluence...) — read and write your wiki and process docs.
Slack — search messages, read threads, draft or send messages.
Google Workspace — search Drive and Gmail, check calendars, schedule meetings.
Moral Fabric — your org's who-does-what backbone (see the companion article ).
How to connect them in Claude
Go to Settings → Connectors .
Browse the directory for the tool (Asana, Slack, and Google have official connectors), or click Add custom connector for others.
Follow the sign-in flow. Most tools use OAuth (a normal login screen); some ask for a Personal Access Token instead — their own docs will say which.
Check the connector shows a green/connected status.
One security rule to remember: never paste tokens or passwords into the chat itself. Credentials belong in the connector settings only — text in a chat can end up in transcripts and logs.
What this unlocks
Once two or more tools are connected, the assistant can stitch them together in one request:
"Look up the Asana project 'Spring campaign', tell me which Moral Fabric role is responsible, and who holds it."
"Summarize what our wiki says about onboarding, and list the open Asana tasks that relate to it."
"Find a 45-minute slot next week with everyone assigned to the 'Fundraising' role."
"Draft a Slack message to the assignees of the 'Bookkeeping' role — keep it casual."
"Turn everything we just discussed about topic X into a Slite page — an FAQ or a step-by-step manual — so the rest of the team can find it." Great way to capture knowledge the moment you figure something out.
Troubleshooting
"Tool not found" or silent failures → the connector is probably disconnected. Check Settings → Connectors for a red dot and reconnect.
Login loop or expired session → disconnect and re-add the connector; tokens occasionally expire.
The assistant pulls the wrong workspace → if you have multiple workspaces in a tool, name the right one in your prompt.
Results differ per person → that's expected: each person's connection sees only what their own account can see.
