Roles describe the work as it is today. When nobody touches them for a month, Moral Fabric says so.
What the check looks at
For every role you hold, the app looks at the last time any of these changed:
the role itself: its name, purpose, accountabilities, or who holds it
your ratings on the role (Skill, Energy, Attention)
If none of that has changed for 30 days, a notice appears on My Roles and on your home page. It does not create tasks or send reminders. It only tells you that nothing moved, so you can decide whether that is still true.
Why it matters
Roles decay quietly. A role that says "run the monthly newsletter" keeps saying that after the newsletter became weekly, after a colleague took over the design, and after you stopped doing it altogether. Nobody lies; the words simply stop matching the work.
Stale roles cost the whole team: the org chart misleads new colleagues, the team Lead plans against work that has moved, and your own role ratings describe a role that no longer exists.
How to keep them fresh, in five minutes
Open My Roles and read each purpose line. Does it still say what you do?
Expand a role and scan its accountabilities. Remove what you no longer do; add what you started doing.
Bigger changes, like splitting a role or handing it over, go through your team's governance meeting.
Any of these resets the clock. So does a colleague editing the role, because the app tracks changes by anyone, not only by you. See Change history and the activity log for where changes are recorded.
